Director and Mortgage & Protection Adviser
Gary Anderson
Gary is the Director of Anderson Mortgages and an experienced Mortgage & Protection Adviser. He helps customers understand their options, make informed decisions and progress through the mortgage or protection process with a consistent point of contact.
With 23 years in the industry, Gary brings substantial experience to residential mortgage advice and enjoys helping customers across a wide range of circumstances.
Experience and Qualifications
A Strong Technical and Advisory Background
Gary's qualifications include the Life & Pensions Foundation qualification, CII Financial Planning, CII Level 3 in Mortgage Advice and a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics.
His principal area of expertise is residential mortgages. That experience supports advice for first-time buyers, people moving home and existing homeowners reviewing or changing their mortgage, as well as cases where income, credit history, deposit or property circumstances need more careful assessment.
Gary's role is to build a clear picture of what the customer wants to achieve, research suitable available options and explain the recommendation in straightforward terms. He will also make clear where product availability, lender criteria or another professional's advice affects the route forward.
A Personal Way of Working
Communication That Suits the Customer
Gary is happy to communicate in the format that best suits the customer and the stage of the case. Meetings may be by telephone or video call, at the customer's home or at another suitable agreed location.
Once a case is allocated to him, Gary remains the main point of contact. He explains what is happening, communicates with the lender or insurer where relevant and supports the customer as the application progresses.
The relationship can continue after completion through future mortgage reviews, contact before an existing deal ends and protection reviews when circumstances change.
Local Connections
Uddingston and Lanarkshire
Gary has lived in the Motherwell and Wishaw area and has also lived and worked in Uddingston. That local connection sits alongside a service available to customers across Scotland and elsewhere in the UK where a case can be handled practically.
Outside work, Gary is married with three daughters. His interests include football, playing guitar and going to the gym.
