Clear from the First Conversation
How Anderson Mortgages Works
Mortgage and protection advice should give you a clear route through decisions that can otherwise feel fragmented or unfamiliar. Anderson Mortgages provides a personal, adviser-led service, with one main point of contact who understands your circumstances and supports you as the case progresses.
The exact journey depends on what you need, but the principles below explain what you can expect.
Step 1
Tell Us What You Want to Achieve
You can begin with a telephone, email or website enquiry. You do not need to arrive with a particular lender, policy or fully formed solution. Explain the decision you are considering and enough background for an adviser to identify the most useful next step.
Your enquiry will be answered personally and promptly, no later than the next working day. Our usual hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The initial conversation is free and without obligation. It is an opportunity to ask questions, understand the scope of the service and decide whether you want to continue.
Step 2
Discuss Your Circumstances and Priorities
Your adviser will ask what you hope to achieve, what matters most and what could affect the recommendation. For a mortgage, that may include income, commitments, deposit, credit history, timescale and the property. For protection, it may include existing policies, employer benefits, dependants, income and the financial risk you want to address.
Meetings can be by telephone or video call, at your home or at another suitable agreed location. Once your case is allocated, the same adviser remains your main contact rather than handing you between a sales adviser, administrator and case manager.
Do not send bank details, health information or detailed financial documents through the public enquiry form. Your adviser will explain the appropriate secure process when information is needed.
Step 3
Understand the Service, Fees and Product Range
Before advice is given, your adviser will explain what Anderson Mortgages can arrange, how the service is funded and any customer fee that may apply.
Mortgage recommendations are made from the lender panel available through Stonebridge Mortgage Solutions. The panel can include products offered only through intermediaries, while some direct-only lender products are not available through it. The scope of the service will be made clear before you proceed.
Protection and home-insurance recommendations are made from a carefully selected number of insurers. Anderson Mortgages receives commission from the insurer when a policy is arranged, with the relevant information disclosed before you proceed.
Step 4
Provide the Information Needed for Advice
A personal recommendation must be supported by accurate and sufficiently complete information. Your adviser will confirm the documents and evidence required for your case and explain how to supply them securely.
For a mortgage, this commonly involves proof of identity and address, evidence of income, bank statements, details of commitments and information about the deposit and property. The precise requirements vary with the applicant, lender and type of mortgage.
For protection, the insurer may ask detailed questions about health, occupation, lifestyle and existing cover. Complete and accurate answers are important because they affect underwriting, policy terms and potential future claims.
Step 5
Receive a Personal Recommendation
Your adviser researches and assesses suitable available options against the information you have provided. The recommendation should connect the proposed mortgage or policy to your objectives, explain why it is considered suitable and identify important costs, conditions and limitations.
This is also the point to ask questions about anything that is unclear. You should understand the recommendation and the commitments involved before agreeing to an application.
Where the case needs another form of specialist advice, Anderson Mortgages may introduce you to a suitable solicitor or other professional. Mortgage and protection advice does not replace legal, tax, investment or property-management advice.
Step 6
Apply and Stay Informed
Once you agree to proceed, your adviser submits the mortgage or insurance application and remains involved as it is considered. Updates are normally provided by telephone and email.
For a mortgage, the lender may request further evidence, arrange a valuation or ask questions before reaching a decision. Anderson Mortgages will communicate with the lender and help you understand what is needed, while your solicitor handles the legal work on a purchase or remortgage.
For protection or home insurance, the insurer may offer standard terms, amend the terms, request more information or decline the application. No outcome can be guaranteed in advance.
Step 7
Offer, Completion and Putting Cover in Place
When a mortgage offer is issued, your adviser will help you understand the mortgage elements while the solicitor deals with the legal process and completion. If an improved rate becomes available on the agreed mortgage before completion, the adviser can check whether changing it is appropriate.
Protection and insurance arrangements should begin on the agreed date and reflect the purpose discussed during the advice. Policy documents should be kept safely and reviewed so that the owner, cover, beneficiaries and other important details remain understood.
Ongoing Support
Keeping the Advice Relevant
Completion does not have to be the end of the relationship. Mortgage deal-expiry dates can be recorded, with contact around six months before a fixed or introductory period ends. Anderson Mortgages can also support future moves, remortgages and changes to the mortgage.
Protection can be reviewed after a new mortgage, move, change of employment, family change or another event that affects the original need. Reviews are intended to check whether the existing arrangements still fit, not to assume that every change requires a new product.
